The History of Moving Boxes

The history is of moving boxes is not well known, but what we do know is that it most likely during the industrial revolution. Textiles were made in mass production at that time and had to be shipped to large customers in boxes. Manufacturers didn't want to spend a lot on wooden crates so clever business people started working together to create celluose from wood shavings. The celluose along with crude glue was enough to make today's moving boxes. Common laborers saw the discarded boxes and took them home after their shift. They used these moving boxes to carry their belongings to their new homes when they moved.

Amazingly the moving box has evolved very little over that time. The sides on todays moving boxs are flatter an the edges on todays moving box is much more geometrical, but aside from that a moving box is still a moving box. As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
